A very expensive teething toy

Last fall, for some insane reason, Papa Z and I thought it would be a good idea to get new furniture. What with a new house, a new baby and an almost 2 year old why not? We’ve heard the stories from other families about how kids destroy everything but not our precious well behaved babies! It’s been close to 6 months since the purchase of the family room furniture and I must say they are still in fairly good condition. I do have to say thank goodness for microsuede. Our couches have had milk, grape juice, vomit, poop, snot, and food smeared on it and it seems to wipe right off! (I won’t ask for an explanation for those of you that come to visit and decide to sit on our floor!) The tables have taken a beating from Wacky Zacky and they still look great. That is until this past weekend when I noticed gashes all around the edge of the coffee table.

I knew they were new marks and I couldn’t figure out how they got there and what could have made them. Then Papa Z took a look and said, “Those are teeth marks!” Then it all made sense, the marks coincided with the start of Zany Janie being able to pull herself up using furniture. It just so happened that the edge of the coffee table was the exact height to her mouth so she could use it as a teething toy! So enjoy it sweetie because it will probably be one of the most expensive toys you ever have!

Zany thought of the day: What do you like to sink your teeth into?

I have a new nickname for Zany Janie now. She's totally like Sonny in The Series of Unfortunate Events books. Her favorite hobby is biting things, too! : )
