WHEN THE CAT’S AWAY…

I left Wacky Zacky and Zany Janie alone downstairs while I ran upstairs to get something. I was gone maybe a matter of 60-90 seconds. When I ran back down the stairs I got a weird sensation, I like to call a “mother’s intuition”. Everything was quiet in the house. I quickly started scanning the rooms and found the crew in the kitchen being silent as little mice. In the mere 60-90 seconds that I was gone Wacky Zacky had ran across the house to his play room to retrieve his Sit-N-Spin. He had taken it out and somehow dragged it quickly into the kitchen. He then used it as a step stool to reach onto the kitchen counter and pull the remaining birthday cake box to him. I caught him red handed-well, I guess I should say icing handed-greedily thrusting handfuls of birthday cake into his mouth. Zany Janie and Scoozoo were at his feet patiently waiting for any crumbs to drop to the floor. Once Wacky Zacky realized I was standing there he whipped his frosting covered face my way and froze. I couldn’t help it, I started laughing and Wacky Zacky took this as a free ticket to help himself to more cake! I guess the old saying is true: When the cat’s away the mice will play!

Zany thought of the day: Wouldn’t life be good if you could eat as many sweets as you wanted and never gained weight? Or better yet, wouldn’t it be great if vegetables tasted like sweets!

Laughing right along with you! BEEN THERE!!!! Mine discovered how to stack chairs in record time to unlock the hook and eye latch I had installed on the pocket door between rooms...after gaining access into the "forbidden zone", they got into the turning cupboard in the kitchen and tore into the criso, slimfast, pudding mixes and more before I stopped them. The crisco was painted all over the couch that had JUST been recovered and used as war paint on their bodies which also worked well to adhere the powder mixes they got into. I can honestly say I was NOT laughing like you were. Three of them could work extremely fast, believe me. There is something about the unspoken dead silence between siblings...know exactly what you mean!
