I have found myself telling the kids if something breaks and we can't fix it, then we will have to throw it away. I thought this might cause them to be more careful with their breakable toys, but no such luck. The other day Wacky Zacky was playing roughly with Scoozoo our dog. They both were antagonizing each other and I was worried Scoozoo would accidentally hurt Wacky Zacky. I had Scoozoo go downstairs and closed the gate on the stairs to separate the two maniacs. Wacky Zacky asked "Why did you make Scoozoo go downstairs?" I tried to explain to him I didn't want Scoozoo to accidentally bite him. Wacky Zacky with a serious face asked, "If Scoozoo bit me would you have to throw me out?"
Zany thought of the day: I am amazed by how much young kids understand. I am also amaze at how literal they take everything. Can you imagine thinking your mom would throw you out if you got hurt? I guess Wacky Zacky forgot he broke his arm last year and we still kept him around!
