Go Green!

(Fun Green Items from my shop)

Tonight is a big night! It's the national championship game for men's college basketball! For those of you that don't know, Michigan State University will play North Carolina. I am a Mid-Western girl at heart and came from a Big Ten school so of course I can't turn my back on the mighty Spartans! They have already helped me win a bet against Papa Z in the last game. Can they do it again?

Zany thought of the day: Have you ever taken the time to really think about school mascots? They are usually something fierce or majestic. Something you'd be proud to wear on a sweatshirt. However, there are a handful of schools that have really odd mascots including:
University of California-Santa Cruz: Sammy The Banana Slug
Scottsdale Community College: Artie The Fighting Artichoke
Delta State University: The fighting Okra
North Carolina School of the Arts: The Fighting Pickle

I love your green! So cute! I'm not much of a sports fan, but I think Okra would make a great mascot!

I like the fighting artichoke! That was be fun to see. DH and I are big basketball fans, too, and have been watching the men's and women's games. OU women were SO Close!

I've always questioned some mascots. One highschool in my old home town had the "greenwave" as their mascot. Yep, you guessed it, it was just a green wave.

I was pulling for the UNC Tarheels during the game. Hubby is a huge fan of them, and I really didn't want to see him pout if they lost. :)

I so love the idea of ferocious produce as mascots - I'm a "Cardinal" at my current school, but I'd love to be a fighting pickle...lol
