This past weekend the Zany family went on an adventure to the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert. The whole museum is hands-on making it an exciting place for our two little monkeys to explore.
They definitely made sure to touch everything in the entire museum. Wacky Zacky and Zany Janie also began their training for the reality television show Survivor:
They were clipped to a rope and had to crawl over and under several other ropes to get to the other side. I must say at this point Wacky Zacky seems like he will be a fierce competitor!
Next we turned a corner and my stomach dropped as I saw a VW Beetle covered in paint with an employee handing out cans of paint to the children. This would be any mother's nightmare, but I must admit the kids did a good job keeping the paint mostly on the car.
So the whole adventure went very smoothly until we hit the miniature grocery store stocked with lots of play food. It was interesting to see Wacky Zacky fill his cart with brownie mix, cake mix, and ice cream sandwiches (he definitely takes after his mama) while Zany Janie filled her cart with nearly all of the fruits and vegetables in the shop. The kids had a wonderful time filling their mini-carts until Zany Janie's cart began to overflow and spill to the floor. I began trying to help her by putting back some of her loot-mainly the empty container of animal crackers that was taking up 50% of her cart when she started shrieking and smacking my hands. She wanted ALL of the food in her cart and she began to have a meltdown as one by one each item she piled on top quickly fell to the floor. Papa Z had to whisk her away to another room so I could restock the shelves and hurry as far away from the shop as possible.
Overall, it was a fun place to play, explore, and discover.
Zany thought of the day: When was the last time you went somewhere to play, explore, and discover?

wow! That looks super fun. I wish we had something like that around here.
The worst part about that place is you feel so obligated to pick up every single thing your kid touches so your constantly thinking oh no not more stuff in the shopping cart. Try taking a 1,2,3 and 4 yr old alone
ok - now that looks fun!!!
