This past weekend Papa Z and I were feeling daring and decided we should get a project the whole family could work on together. We all agreed on a wooden bird feeder. Once we purchased the wooden feeder and paint there was no turning back. In the store Wacky Zacky designated himself the holder of the project and did not let go of it until we were ready to paint it. Little did I know he had the ability to unscrew the caps off the paint, but luckily they remained on until we got home! Once home we began to realize it was too windy to paint outside and we would be forced to paint with a 1-year-old and 3-year-old in the house. Call us adventuresome or call us crazy, but we forged on. We took every precaution possible by lining the counters with newspaper and putting towels on the chairs then went to work.
Unbeknownst to us, Zany Janie seems to have an appetite for paint and was caught sucking on the paint brush a few times.
The kids worked diligently and both seem to have inherited my artistic flare.
The end product was not the purple birdhouse with cute lime green polka-dots I had imagined, but it was even better!
I've got to tell you, there are some oh so lucky birds around here that are fortunate enough to eat their dinner at this high class establishment!
Zany thought of the day: Do you think birds care what type of bird feeder they eat at? Do you think they frequent the upscale ones more often than the ones purchased at the dollar store? Or do you think they just swoop down and go to the first one they find?

O, I think the birds will enjoy the purple masterpiece!
You are brave! But they had fun and thats all that matters! Plus, you have that lovely birdhouse now! I just love Janie's crazy pony tail!
