Love is the handmade things

It’s May which means Mother’s Day will be in a few weeks. I remember over the years agonizing over what to get my Mother for Mother’s Day. As a child I would make presents for her. I made messes using glitter, got paint all over everything trying to do handprints, and blew so hard to get the yolk out of an egg that I thought I would pass out. I never knew how much those handmade things meant until I had children of my own. My heart melts when Wacky Zacky hands me a wildflower he pulled from the ground or when he finishes the few works of art he has completed as he learns to color. I know the days of my babies being young and innocent will go by fast, so for now I’m going to enjoy every second of it and cherish every masterpiece they make for me.

Zany thought of the day: What is the best handmade present you have ever made or received?

I agree...I used to get so worried that what I got my mom wasn't going to be "good enough". But now that I have a child of my own, I realize it's those "from the heart" gifts that mean the most. My mom STILL has pictures we made her when we were little (I'm almost 24). So I think this year, I'm going to do my son's handprints and give them to her as well!!

that was sweet. I wonder what they will think up to give you, when THEY grow up? Wait and see!
