Be careful what you ask for!

I just made a comment to Papa Z about how the kids have not given me much material for the blog. In the past I didn’t have time to post half of what those two monkeys were doing! You’d think I’d be grateful for the lull of public humiliation, bad behavior, and crazy shenanigans! But oh no! I had to open my big mouth! Well, today I sure got the message of being careful what I ask for!

We are active in a couple of SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) groups. Today we rushed around the house and barely made it to My Gym by 9:00 AM to meet several other moms and their kids. While in the car Wacky Zacky seemed to be in good spirits as he sang about going to the park and seeing one of his girlfriends “Kenzie”. We rushed into the packed waiting room and greeted some of the moms. All of a sudden Wacky Zacky started to cry. I was mildly annoyed thinking his temper tantrum was because the place had not opened and he couldn’t get into the ball pit. I picked him up and asked what was wrong, but he just continued to cry and whimper. At that point I knew his tears were not the cry of a tantrum, but the cry of “I’m hurt”. So I gathered him up in my lap and gently rocked him as I tried to figure out what was wrong. Without any indication he projectile vomited spraying himself, me, the diaper bag, and anyone within a foot from him. I was mortified! I reached into my puke filled diaper bag, got the baby wipes, and began cleaning up the mess. One of the other moms rescued Zany Janie from the chaos as I continued to try to clean it up. Even though I was among friends, I was so embarrassed! There’s nothing more humiliating than attempting to make the best of a situation while puke drips down your leg and onto the floor! I cleaned things up the best as I could and we left. As I carted both kids out of the place Wacky Zacky began screaming that he wanted to stay and play! Fat change of that buddy! I don’t think they allow kids with puke dripping from their ears into the ball pit! Maybe next time!

So I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the moms that helped me trough my heaping helping of public humiliation!

Zany thought of the day: Today reminds me of a poster slogan, “Life is a test. It is only a test. Had this been real life you would have been instructed where to go and what to do.” So today’s experience was just a test, a learning experience if you will!

OMG I feel for you! Bad enough he got sick but all over the place, poor kiddo and poor you for having to go through the humiliation. That's kids for you, unexpected things all the time. I'm glad mine are all grown LOL.

oh boy! Don't you just hate when that happens! Luckily though, you were other moms, who more than likely had been through something similar (they just wouldn't be the first to admit it!). I had that happen once, when I was babysitting my cousin, he was 2 at the time. We were in Steak-n-Shake of all places and out of nowhere he puked all over me and the floor! So I took him outside and he puked all over the side walk! Then after that he was perfectly fine haha.

Hi Mother Zebra, so you have experienced a normality of having young children. Let this be the least of your worries. *warm smile*

Though a yucky thing to happen *smile turned downward*, this is a small "burp" in the scheme of things.

Wishing Wacky Zacky get-well soon, Mommy loves you and your playmates miss you!
