My little lyricist!

"If you give a boy a fish he will eat for a day. If you teach the boy to fish he will eat for the rest of his life...If you give a boy a song he will surely turn it into something dirty!" Isn't that how the old saying goes?

Papa Z seems to know a raunchy version of every children's song known to man. Wacky Zacky is following right in his footsteps. Right now his favorite nursery rhyme is:

"Mary had a little fart, little fart, little fart. Mary had a little fart..."
He's still working on the ending! The best part of having such a gifted little lyricist in our family is that he loves to loudly share his songs at the most inopportune times, such as in a very quiet library, in the middle of Costco, or when you are making an important phone call. Ahhh...The joy of boys!

Zany thought of the day: Speaking of lyrics, have you ever sang a song over and over for years thinking you knew the words only to be utterly shocked when someone points out your error? I recently had that pleasant experience. Papa Z and I were watching American Idol and one of the singers sang Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)". Somehow I came to the realization that they were not saying "1, 2, 3" throughout the song, but rather "P.Y.T." I thought back over the years of all the times I loudly sang this song in front of others-Don't get me wrong, despite this being a good song I don't constantly live my life singing it on a daily basis...But it was a song that frequently played at frat parties, bars, and weddings and I've been known to loudly and proudly sing "I want to love you 1, 2, 3!" It's good I have Papa Z to point out the errors of my ways!
