Prime Doggie Real Estate

Little did we know when we moved into our house that it sits smack dab on prime doggie real estate! How exactly do we know you ask? Well, it seems that every dog in the neighborhood has come for a visit to our backyard.

I will begin this doggie tale with the fact that our dog, Scoozoo, is absolutely under no condition suppose to poop or pee on the grass in the backyard. We have trained him to go to the far side of the house to do his doggie duties in the rocks. Papa Z takes pride the yard and nothing makes his blood boil more than seeing yellow spots in the grass or dog poop littering his lawn.

That being said it became a mystery when we started finding small piles of dog poop in our fenced-in backyard. The mystery was solved when one day we caught our neighbor's two Yorkies nonchalantly coming into our yard through the wrought iron fence. Those sneaky dogs would come into our yard just to poop and pee then quickly return to their yard as if nothing had happened. Our neighbors fixed their fence to keep their dogs contained only to have those little bandits dig a hole under the fence not once, but twice to get into our yard. I know it! I told you our yard was prime doggie real estate. The holes were filled and we finally thought our troubles were over when we started finding more piles of poop.

Once again the mystery was solved when we caught another neighbor's black Chihuahua in our yard. Seriously dog? Can't you just do your business in your own yard? Mind you when all this happens Scoozoo goes bonkers barking, lunging, and attempting to bust through the glass in the back door to scare the dogs away.

In the past few months we have caught the black Chihuahua, a small white dog, and a miniature pincher in our yard at various times. And those are just the ones we have actually caught red handed! Who knows how many others have come into our yard to do their business. It's like they are drawn to it like a magnet and they flock from all over just to take a dump in our back yard!

It seems like this is going to be an ongoing issue. If only we could figure out how to charge admission!

Zany thought of the day: When visiting the Zany house you had better follow the old saying, "Look before you leap because if you don't you might find yourself ankle deep in doggie doo doo!" or however that saying goes...

If memory serves, Lily did her business back there at some point too didn't she? Maybe it's not just dogs who are drawn to it...

well, there's always electric wire... but really, it's not your responsibility! Maybe keep Scoozoo in the backyard at prime poopping time, and (hopefully) he'll scare away the other dogs. Tell us how it works out!
