Earlier in the day Wacky Zacky and Zany Janie were playing with a stuffed animal. Wacky Zacky was standing on the couch dangling the animal in Zany Janie's face. To make a long story short a tug-of-war ensued resulting in Wacky Zacky falling off the couch and landing head first on the edge of the coffee table. Immediate wails were heard and when I ran to get him I saw a 2 inch long gash in the back of his head. Papa Z was called at work and needless to say we all rushed to the ER.
Papa Z went back with Wacky Zacky while I anxiously waited in the waiting room with Zany Janie and Silly Jilly. The whole process took several hours and all I can say is thank goodness for texting and cell phones! Papa Z was able to keep me informed of what was going on while I tried to keep Zany Janie from touching anything gross and from gawking at everyone who came into the waiting room as she loudly asked, "Are they sick?".
Wacky Zacky must have a very high tolerance for pain because he didn't even shed a tear when they cleaned his wound or when they put three staples in his head. He had his eye on the prize and had been told when we left the ER he could get an ice cream cone so he was completely focused on getting a treat. Wacky Zacky proudly emerged from the back sporting his bloody t-shirt and a huge bandage that nearly covers the top of his head!
*Broken arm-Check
*Passage of object through body (quarter)-Check
*Staples to head-Check
Okay, I think that covers it! Wacky Zacky has used up all his allotted ER visits of boyhood in two short years! **It is true that this will only happen three times right?

I hope it stops at 3 for you. Now he has a macho scar story to share when he gets older.
Uh oh! I have a Zack, too, and we spent quite a few times in the ER over the years. He ran into a reinforced corner of a wall when he was 5 and gashed his forehead. Blood poured over his face (head wounds do that). Now his hair covers that scar.
How fun that must have been to spend lots of time in the ER with 3 little kids!
Oh my goodness! The poor little guy! And poor Mommy's nerves! I hope he heals quickly and that it is your last ER visit!
Oh, my goodness! I hope it stops at 3 but I doubt that as parents we will ever truly relax.
I hate to tell you this - but I don't think it stops there! Poor kid - and poor Mom!
Gadfry! Glad all the Zany ppl are okay now =p Yeah - three is enough! Not sure, though - do boys get more???
Oh, poor little guy. So, how long until your heart started beating again? Never easy to see our little ones hurt...even worse to hear it...give 'em hugs for us :)
Oh no!!! How scary! But from the way it sounds...you were well prepared for it!
I agree that he has used up his ER visits...for the whole family!
