We had 12 kids under the age of 6 to try to entertain at the party. Papa Z and I had a good time making up games for the kids to play. All the games pertained to Silly Jilly's life. They included:
1. An obstacle course. Silly Jilly goes through an obstacle course on a daily basis. We made a course for the kids to CRAWL not WALK through which included some of Silly Jilly's favorite items: a tunnel, paper, the dog's water bowl, crawling under a table, a DVD case, and a TV remote control.
2. Learning to stand. Silly Jilly had taken her first wobbly steps when she was 11 months old. The kids had to stand on a wobbly balance board and try not to tip the board.
3. Where's Baby's Binky? Papa Z and I spend and abnormal amount of time trying to track down lost Binkies (aka: pacifier). We decided to sit back and let someone else find the Binky! We hid ring pops and the kids got to do their own search for a Binky.
4. Look what Silly Jilly made! We took diapers and melted candy bars in them making it look like a pooh filled diaper. The kids got to guess what type of candy bar was in each diaper. Despite the gross factor of this game, I think it may have been the fan favorite.
After completing all the games each guest was given a Boo Boo Bag (hot/cold pad) because we all know - big or small - kids get hurt 100 times a day!
We finished the party with cake and presents. Silly Jilly had never eaten cake before and was not quite sure what to think of it.
I know Silly Jilly won't remember her first birthday party, but nevertheless it was fun to celebrate it with friends and family.
