Goldfish had one fin in the toilet and one in his fishbowl

Tuesday I went upstairs to transfer the laundry from the washer to the dryer leaving Zany Janie and Wacky Zacky downstairs playing in their play kitchen. On the way back down I was greeted by Wacky Zacky happily screeching “Mama, Zacky feed fish!” with a proud look on his face. My stomach dropped as I started racking my brain to come up with what he might have tossed into the fishbowl. I ran as fast as I could into the kitchen thinking “Please don’t let it be my cell phone!” I froze in bewilderment as I saw what looked like a slaughter had taken place in Goldfish’s bowl (Wacky Zacky got to name his fish for his good behavior and that’s what he choose…Yes, I know it’s a beta named Goldfish.). I’m not kidding, it looked like a lot of blood had been poured into his bowl. Upon closer observation it was found that Wacky Zacky had indeed fed his fish. He had used the Bumbo chair to climb onto the kitchen counter top and retrieved the container of fish food from the cabinet. He then unscrewed the cap, climbed onto the island top, and poured nearly all the fish food into the bowl. At least he was responsible enough to put the cap back on and return the food to the cabinet. I quickly got Goldfish out of his bowl and cleaned the fishbowl. I don’t know if having that much food in his home was heaven or hell for him, but that day he definitely had one fin in the toilet and one in his fish bowl. I am happy to announce it appears he will live to see another day.

Zany thought of the day: What are people thinking when they give pets or children names? It’s such an important responsibility and should really be given a lot of thought, because let’s face it; they will probably have it for life. Apparently New Zealand has a trend of giving their children bizarre names, such as “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii”. I’m not making this up see for yourself here. Wacky Zacky seems to have a knack for naming things…His beta is named Goldfish. I wonder if the ability to name things is hereditary because I seem to remember Wacky Zacky’s grandpa giving names to farm animals including: One spot, two spot, tuffy, toes, and whitie and his great grandfather giving names such as: Orange Puss, Spotted Puss, Tiger Puss, and Mother Puss.

I didn't have any idea what happened either. Halfway through, I thought he used ketchup!

You know that fish won't go hungry. Hard to tell Zack not to feed it!

I love your stories...

Glad to hear the fish is ok! LOL I'm so thankful my son hasn't done this yet . . . but, he does ask me from time to time if he can eat them.

Too funny.

I can't believe you were able to save Goldfish after the track record we had with betas back in the apartment.
