The Zany family takes on Elmo at Sea World…

The Zany family decided to return to Sea World to conquer Elmo and his Sesame Street posse at the Bay of Play. In April 2008 we were taken down by those furry little creatures (click here for details of that dreaded day), but we have been working out Rocky style and were in tip top shape to face those fur balls!

We entered the park and were greeted by a friendly sea otter.

We didn’t want this detour to distract us from our goal so we caught three shows to get the feel for the day. We watched Clyde and Seamore’s Risky Rescue, Cirque de la Mer, and Believe with Shamu. All three shows were spectacular and the whole family loved them. It was a little humorous that Zany Janie didn’t realize the seals were on stage until halfway through the show. But she became extremely excited and pointed and babbled happily.

We finally made our way to the Bay of Play, which is a two-acre play area with family –friendly rides, character appearances and several fun and unique ways to play. The kids had a blast. We did catch a glimpse of Elmo and ran over to talk with him, but as you can see Grover and Abby Cadabby blocked us.

Zany Janie did try to catch up to Elmo by snorkeling after him, but Shamu swam between the two and he once again got away.

Wacky Zacky tried to give chase only to be blocked by several large punching bags…You’ve gotta watch him, that Elmo is a slick one!

Finally, we finished the day with Papa Z and Wacky Zacky riding “Elmo’s Flying Fish”. Zany Janie was too little to ride, but that didn’t keep her from trying to bend the steel bars to get on the ride.

Even though Wacky Zacky was initially excited to go on the ride, all happy anticipation ceased once he was strapped in because he became very scared.

The Zany family did not return to “Sesame Street presents Lights, Camera, Imagination!” 4-D theater this time…I will keep you wondering if the lines were too long or if we chickened out. You shall never know!

Zany thought for the day: If at first you don’t succeed, try-try again!

what color and excitement - I guess one of the joys of having kids is playing with them.
