Funny Friday

Okay, so I have not done a Funny Friday in awhile, but my sister just sent me something that was too good not to share with you! It's from a very creative Etsy Shop called RearGear. She sells "Rear Gear" for your cat or dog's "brown eye".

Rear Gear comes in many designs including a disco ball, air freshener, heart, flower, biohazard, smiley face, number one ribbon, cupcake, sheriff's badge, dice, and she also takes custom orders for your own designs!

With the Holidays just around the corner, you'll want to make sure you stop by RearGear's shop to pick up a few stocking stuffers for your pet!

Samu-what? Samu-who? Samurai!

A few days ago a couple of strange fellows appeared in the Zany backyard. These two unique characters are long lost relatives of the Zarkle family. The red monster is named Samurai Kaiju Zarkle which means "Monster" in Japanese. The blue monster's name is Samurai Mizu which means "water" in Japanese. The Samurai Zarkles are protectors and keep a watchful eye over all. These fierce Samurai can be found for adoption in my Etsy shop Two Zany Zebras. I can also do custom orders for them and make them in any color of your hearts desire.

Zany thought of the day: Never forget the wise words of an old Samurai: "Petting scorpions with a compassionate hand will only get you stung."

The Purple Princess Palace

We have been in our house over a year and have finally decided to start the tedious process of painting our white walls! Well, to be totally honest, I should say paint our scuffed, fingerprinted, colored on, food splattered, scrapped-up whitish walls. I thought it would be fun to show some before and after pictures.

To prevent any beheadings from Princess Zany Janie, we decided to start with her room.

Here are some before shots taken shortly after we moved in. Notice how Wacky Zacky tried to be in all the pictures!

It may not be as transforming as Trading Spaces, but to us a little color on the wall makes a huge impact! Especially when you are use to seeing white everywhere! Here are the after shots of the Purple Princess Palace!

The color choice for the dressers were inspired from the two stuffed animals below.
A room can't be complete without something fun and unique from Etsy. A fellow Etsymom, Craftgirlalli, custom made these cute wall pegs for Princess Zany Janie's room.

One room down, several more to go! I'm guessing the next room to decorate will be Wacky Zacky's room. Especially since he's sitting back admiring Zany Janie's room green with envy!

Zany thought of the day: Why does it seem regardless of how careful and steady you hold your hand, it never fails to jerk out of control when you are painting near the ceiling?

So much fabric, so little time!

I have a closet stuffed full of fabric that tips over and tries to run out screaming every time I open the closet doors! There are so many things on my "To Do List" that I don't even know where to start...I thought the fun little countdown to Christmas Santa Widget on my sidebar would put a smile on my face every time I saw it, but instead it causes my heart to skip a beat as I realize the seconds/hours/days are ticking by at warp speed!

I have lots of spicy Christmas fabric and lots of fun ideas ruminating in my head. I do plan to make some fun and funky stockings for my shop. I also have several Christmas gifts that somehow need to get made...I'm still holding out hope that Santa will lend me a couple of his elves for a night or two.

My friends seem to be procreating like rabbits! I have several upcoming baby showers and I need to make something special for each one of them. At this point all my friends expect something made by Mama Z, so even if I am running out of time and am tempted to buy something from the store I know I can't!

I am planning to do my first craft fair on December 13 and need to work on items for it. I'm thinking of making several new Zarkles for adoption as well as several other things...

But for now I think I'll do what I find myself doing every time I get near the computer: sit back, check my email, read a few blogs, and get sucked into the vortex of the Internet!

Zany thought of the day: Wouldn't it be great if we could live life without a clock ticking off every second, reminding us another second has passed? The problem with that would be the procrastinators would never get anything done! :)

Let me introduce you to a few of them that are ready for adoption:

Dexter Zarkle

Ginger Zarkle

Queenie Zarkle

ME-OW

I adore this retro cat print! I’ve had it in my stash for a few months, but haven’t wanted to cut it up. I know I’m weird; I’d rather sit and look at a folded piece of fabric than to force myself to cut into it and make something out of it! Well, I finally forced myself to unfold it and do something with it. I think the Retro Puss Onesie and Zany Cuddle Blankie turned out really cute. The Zany Cuddle Blankie measures approximately 15 X 15 inches which is the perfect size for nap time and is small enough so it won’t drag on the floor. It is perfect for babies and toddlers when traveling in a stroller or a car seat. The edges are topstitched for a nice finished look and extra durability. The Zany Cuddle Blankie has a loop that is great for curious hands to explore. You can also hook a link to the loop and attach it to the car seat or stroller. No more playing the kicking game where the blankie is kicked off and either lost or the stroller rolls over it resulting in wheel marks! Both the onesie and the Zany Cuddle Blankie can be found in my online Etsy shop. If you are interested onseies or Zany Cuddle Blankies in other fabrics, I would be happy to do a custom order for you, just contact me. For more zany items check out my online shop at Two Zany Zebras.

Zany thought of the day: Why do retro prints put a little smile on my face? Is it me, or does everyone get a little flutter in their hearts when they look at this happy/fun retro cat fabric?

Zany thought of the day: What are some of your favorite sayings? I love the saying “I’m what Willis was’ talkin’ ‘bout!” from cafe press.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Let the animal parade begin!

I am proud to announce the release of the Zany clothing line at my Etsy Shop. We have been working on bibs, blankets, and Zarkles and have now taken the plunge into the world of clothes. The coming months will bring lots of cute onesies and t-shirts to choose from. Our first release comes from the brand new hot off the press Michael Miller First Sight fabric. Not only is this fabric fun and cute, it also serves a purpose. The white, black, and red colors help to stimulate little one’s sight and brain development. So bring on the animals and let the parade begin!

Zany thought of the day: If you’re interested in reading about the very first parade then click here to learn more. If not then don’t get mad at me the next time you play trivial pursuit and you are asked this question!
